RELEASE Obtuso is the second EP by Brazilian rock band Farveste. Formed in Porto Alegre, in 2004, the instrumental four-piece has been in an indefinite hiatus, due to the current geographical distance between its members: one has moved to Australia, and another to the USA. Recorded live back in 2006 with almost no overdubs, the 5 songs on this “posthumous” release were recently re-edited and mixed by Mateus Velasques – the guitar player who now studies audio engineering in New York. Farveste is inspired by post rock, focusing on guitars and changes in dynamics. Its main goal is to create music one can listen to during long walks. Its only concern is to succeed at that. Obtuso é o segundo EP da banda porto-alegrense Farveste. Formado em 2004, o quarteto instrumental atualmente hiberna por tempo indeterminado, devido à distancia geográfica entre seus integrantes: um se mudou para a Austrália, e outro para os EUA. Gravadas ao vivo em 2006 com um mínimo de overdubs, as 5 músicas deste disco “póstumo” foram recentemente reeditadas e mixadas por Mateus Velasques – o guitarrista que hoje estuda engenharia de áudio em Nova Iorque. A Farveste é inspirada pelo pós-rock, centrado em guitarras e mudanças de dinâmica. O objetivo é fazer música que possa ser ouvida durante longas caminhadas. A única ambição do grupo é conseguir isso. |
